Growth Education Motivation of Students (GEMS) is an academic enrichment program focus age group is kindergarten through 8th grade The GEMS program will focus on homework and other activities which emphasizes academic excellence (reading, math, writing, etc.), life skills (leadership, teamwork, healthy lifestyles, self-esteem, and conflict resolution) and other life skills needed to succeed in life. GEMS will reinforce the new learning standards from the state-mandated Common Core Standards. The program will provide helpful tip sheets for parents to use with their children at home.

GEMS MISSION STATEMENT
GEMS' mission is to provide a learning environment for under-represented youth with a focus on empowering them for self-sufficiency to bridge the education gap, improve low self-esteem, deal with social issues (bullying, violence, substance abuse, etc.), and strengthen social skills.
